An orchid expedition with ANOS was planned over the Easter weekend and I used it to also search for dragonflies. I saw several orchid species for the first time and saw numerous interesting dragonflies, despite being late in the season. This included several Pseudagrion microcephalum in Croajingolong National Park.

April 2, 2010 : Holey Plains

A walk around Harrier Swamp revealed numerous Parson's Bands orchids.

April 2, 2010 : Elusive Lake, Croajingolong NP

Went looking for dragonflies and possibly exploring some interesting nearby sites. Managed to get to a dry depression 200m west of the lake which looked good on satellite images. Had to abandon attempt to get to another site 2km west as the bush is just too thick.

April 3, 2010 : Wulgulmerang Area

Numerous orchids were seen, many new to me.

Several more orchids.

April 5, 2010 : Wulgulmerang

From a dam on the campground (Wulgulmerang Recreation Reserve) to nearby creek. Some common odonata sighted in the cool morning.

Creek trhough farmland where cattle can access it.

April 5, 2010 : Buchan Orchids

Some rare orchids around Buchan

April 5, 2010 : Balley Hooley

Numerous dragonflies where the Buchan meets the Snowy.

April 6, 2010 : Raymond Creek

Pristine creek with numerous small rockpools to large billabongs. Sighted numerous dragonflies, including my first sightings of a Dendroaeschna conspersa .
